Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Greyhound Intermediate School as a Title I Teacher. This full-time position is designed to provide targeted support to students who require additional assistance in their academic journey. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, implement effective teaching strategies, and collaborate with staff and families to enhance student achievement.

DATE OF AVAILABILITY: August 2025
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess a valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate with a Reading Specialist endorsement or 15 credits in reading
2. Knowledge of and commitment to best practices as supported by current research to teach the District's adopted curriculum; willingness to attend workshops to strengthen skills
3. Willingness to support and be part of a building-wide school improvement plan that reinforces positive social skills and appropriate student behavior and encourages reading support across the curriculum
4. Experience and expertise with guided reading instruction, process writing using writer's workshop, and reading comprehension strategies, knowing how to monitor student progress within a balanced literacy approach to teaching
5. Willingness to provide intervention programming to support the educational needs of identified students; support "MTSS Initiative" within the building
6. Ability to be a self starter. Extensive experience in remediation required
7. Must support and participate in the schools' efforts to create a positive school climate and promote appropriate student behavior
8. Excellent classroom management skills
9. Ability to use assessments and student data to drive meaningful instruction
10. Committed to working in a high profile school and being a part of a professional learning community
11. Willingness to maintain/facilitate frequent conversations/communication with parents outside of the designated Parent/Teacher Conferences
12. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for teachers
13. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
