Machine Operator

Shift and Compensation

-2nd shift 3:30pm - 12:00am (midnight)

-3rd shift 11:00pm - 7:00am

-Monday-Friday

-$15.00

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this position will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.

Duties/Responsibilities

Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include hobs, presses, boring, and similar equipment.

Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.

Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.

Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.

Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.

Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.

Thorough understanding of/or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

Ability to read and follow written instructions.

Ability to follow proper safety protocols.

Ability to work independently and manage a job from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least one to two years of experience as a machine operator required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in noisy environments.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
