Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity. You will work closely with individuals to assist them in daily living activities and promote their independence while adhering to their rights and preferences. We are seeking staff at this time with availability for awake night shift (11am-7pm or 7pm-7am).
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide individuals observation to monitor health status and report any changes or concerns.
Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring individuals rights and safety protocols compliance.
Engage individuals in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used for individual safety.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals by following hygiene and sanitation practices.
Foster positive relationships with people we support while respecting their individual needs and preferences.
Experience
Previous experience in direct support roles or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
Experience in providing care for individuals with developmental disabilities
Strong communication skills and working collaboratively within a team setting are essential.
