Woodstock dentistry seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a hybrid role that combines dental equipment sterilization and dental assistance. This position plays a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety and smooth operation of our dental practice.
Duties:
Core Responsibilities: -
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and tools before and after each use
Operate and maintain sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners)
Prepare and sanitize dental treatment rooms between patients
Maintain proper inventory of sterilized instruments and clinical supplies
Follow strict infection prevention and control protocols
Safely dispose of biohazardous waste and used materials
Ensure clinical areas meet hygiene and safety standards at all times
Non-Core Duties: Dental Assistance
Welcome patients and manage front desk tasks, including calls, scheduling, inquiries, and keeping the reception area organized
Assist with preparing daily charts, treatment notes, and patient records
Process billing, payments, and coordinate with insurance providers
Support clinical staff by organizing tools and setting up treatment rooms
Requirements
Completion of secondary school is required
Prior experience in a dental or healthcare setting is an asset
Familiarity with sterilization and infection control procedures is preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced clinical environment
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Professional, respectful, and patient-centred mindset
Qualifications:
Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent experience is an asset.
Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control procedures.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in using dental software and office applications.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
