The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer Architect (Senior/Lead) to support Air Dominance and Fighters programs located in Berkeley, MO.

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Air Dominance team is seeking a passionate Systems Engineer to support our cutting-edge Air Dominance programs. This is your chance to work across iconic division platforms like the F-15 Eagle, F/A-18 Super Hornet, EA-18 Growler, MQ-25 Stingray, and T-7A Redhawk, contributing to the future of national defense. The selected candidate will lead the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team in providing cross-program, model-based systems engineering solutions. They will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and systems engineers across the division to evaluate the available systems engineering solution kits, tailor as needed for program integration, and ensure consistent implementation across Air Dominance programs, while embracing the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering strategy.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the planning, organization, and implementation of model-based systems engineering processes, driving improvements and fostering a culture of excellence.

Program-Centric Approach: Collaborate closely with program customers to support the definition of system requirements, enable seamless systems integration, ensure systems verification, and the delivery of integrated systems engineering models

Architectural Excellence: Conduct comprehensive analyses to optimize system architecture, ensuring mission success through innovative solutions such as open architecture standards.

Safety and Quality Assurance: Lead efforts to analyze and integrate critical systems factors, including safety, reliability, and quality, for systems engineering products that utilize MBSE approaches

Subject Matter Expert: Leverage Systems Engineering and MBSE experience to implement, maintain, and refine the MBSE approach.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Level 4: 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor degree OR 7+ years of work-related experience with a Masters degree OR 4+ years of work-related experience with a PhD.

Level 5: 14+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor degree OR 12+ years of work-related experience with a Masters degree OR 9+ years of work-related experience with a PhD

Prior Systems Engineering experience to include but not limited to system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation

3+ years’ experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development

Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation

Leadership experience to include but not limited to engineering leadership roles and/or leading work and driving teams to success

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Exceptional Communicator: Ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Mentorship Skills: Experience in training and mentoring early career engineers, fostering the next generation of talent

Military Aircraft Lifecycle Knowledge: Familiarity with the military aircraft development lifecycle and Integrated Product Teams (IPT)

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:

Summary Pay range Level 4: $119,850 - $162,150

Summary pay range Level 5: $147,050 - $198,950
