Position reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor
Summary:
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the VRC Technician performs all related mechanical assembly and electrical work on VRC units including stringing beams, wiring and assembling motors, inspecting control panels, wiring pumps and motor buses by performing the following duties.
Job Duties:
Inspect control panels to assure wired up correctly.
String beams and assure that all wiring cable is proper length in the main beams.
Install shafts, bearings and sprockets in the motors and bolts them to the base.
Maintain inventory of stock parts, hardware, hose kits, filler panels, 6" panels and cylinders; advises supervisor and purchasing when stock is low to assure that needed parts are available.
Assemble 500# lifts, cylinders and carriages.
Inspect and test pumps, setting up pressure switch and setting relief valve.
Must be able to operate a fork lift.
Must have legible writing and math skills.
Follow good housekeeping practices in keeping work area clean.
Perform assigned duties following safe manufacturing processes and conform to shop safety rules.
Other duties may be assigned.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed and with short notice.
Requirements:
One-year certificate in electrical wiring from a college or technical school and at least one-year related experience; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills as well as the ability to learn and operate in an ERP environment is required. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability of perform basic calculations using a calculator. Must be able to read and use tape measure.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Physical requirements include: regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds when turning parts over, dependent on the part being painted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, and extended periods of standing.
Employee must wear OSHA approved safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
Employee must be willing to work as needed, as well as any shift.
