Sanitation Technician

Job Description

3rd Shift

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for assuring that the plant is appropriately cleaned to satisfy regulatory compliance and company requirements.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production areas, including equipment, machinery, walls, floors, and ceilings.

Prepare the room for cleaning by sweeping up excess produce/trash on floor using a broom or shovel.

Hose down equipment and machinery with water hoses and apply foam to all surfaces in production areas.

Scrub/Brush/Hand clean equipment and machinery as needed, and rinse foam from equipment and machinery.

Apply sanitizer and oil/air mixture to all surfaces

Disassemble equipment for cleaning purposes and be able to reassemble the same equipment

Clean receiving dock

Carry waste outside to trash bins

Document daily cleaning on Sanitation Forms.

Other duties may be assigned by Sanitation Supervisor, Director of QA, or VP of Operations.

Required Skills:

Working in a very cold and wet environment (33 - 35 degrees Fahrenheit)

Long periods of standing on hard wet surface area

Read and understand chemical warnings

Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Pushing, pulling, and lifting to 75 lbs.

May require climbing steps or a ladder.

Bending, stooping, reaching overhead, stretching, climbing stairs

Repetitious movements of hand, arms, and legs
