The Accounting and FP&A Manager is responsible for leading financial planning, cost analysis, and core accounting activities in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in managing the full accounting cycle, producing financial reports, and analyzing cost drivers to support strategic decision-making. Working closely with company leadership, the individual will ensure accurate financial records, monitor production costs, and maintain cash flow forecasts. This is a hands-on role ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a small, fast-paced business setting.
MAIN FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
Track and analyze production costs — including raw materials, labor, and output — to support cost efficiency and margin improvement
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on cost drivers and operational KPIs
Maintain dynamic cash flow forecasting and rolling financial projections
Produce and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Conduct budget vs. actual variance analysis and deliver actionable insights to leadership
Support inventory management processes, valuation, and cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) tracking
Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accuracy of financial records
Collaborate with operations and purchasing to align costs with production needs and business goals
Assist with payroll data preparation and benefits tracking
Recommend and implement improvements to internal controls, processes, and reporting systemsRequirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience: 3+ years of relevant accounting and/or FP&A experience (manufacturing or agribusiness preferred)
Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory tracking. Experience managing month-end close and producing complete financial statements. Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and basic ERP/accounting systems.
Comfortable working independently in a small-business environment
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
Preferred experience: Familiarity with standard costing or job costing. Exposure to payroll systems or HRIS tools. Experience with agricultural commodities, inputs, or seasonal production cycles.
