Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to lead ground-up grocery store construction projects in the Dallas, Texas area. This role requires a results-driven professional with a solid background in commercial construction, particularly in grocery or retail developments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
As the on-site leader, the Superintendent will manage the full lifecycle of construction operations, from mobilization through final delivery.
Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, managing day-to-day site activity, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining rigorous quality control.
The role also involves developing and updating project schedules, anticipating potential delays, and working closely with the project team to maintain progress and alignment with construction goals.
A key component of the role involves working closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that labor, materials, and equipment are available as needed.
The Superintendent must also be able to resolve conflicts on-site and maintain strong lines of communication with all project stakeholders.
Budget oversight is essential, with a focus on efficient resource management and cost control to prevent overruns.
The position requires maintaining thorough documentation of project activities, including daily reports, progress tracking, and safety records.
Strong coordination with the project management team is expected to ensure seamless communication and alignment with project milestones.
Qualifications:
5–7 years of experience as a Superintendent in ground-up commercial construction.
Experience with grocery or retail projects preferred.
Proven ability to manage large-scale projects ($5M–$25M).
Familiarity with local building codes, safety standards, and quality control practices.
Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
