Join a team that keeps us protected and mission-ready - BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Process Improvement Chemical Engineer to help us produce energetic materials for our government and commercial customers. An ideal candidate will have a degree in chemical engineering and an interest in process controls and hands-on engineering problem solving.
As a process engineer, you will:
Provide process engineering support to the Explosives Manufacturing division.
Develop new and redline existing Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.
Develop new and redline existing interlock narratives.
Ensure production schedules are met in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Facilitate and/or support process improvement projects, maintenance efforts, and modernization projects.
Provide technical assistance and process troubleshooting for equipment and operational issues. Some on call technical support required.
Develop new and update existing operating procedures. Assist with traning efforts on new or changed procedures.
Interact with customers and suppliers.
Lead/support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes.
Develop and implement safety, quality, and process improvements in accordance with management of change requirements.

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline.
3 or more years of chemical engineering experience.
Ability to work with a team in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills and Education
Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Experience in troubleshooting process issues, management of change, process hazard analysis.
Experience in recrystalllization, drying, or packaging.
