Then take your career to the next level as a Program Coordinator Total Joint at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $47.34 – $71.00. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This is a full time, day shift position; hours 0600-1400 but will require some flexibility.

Facilitate program development and oversees the day to day patient management within the Total Joint Center.

Coordinate and lead regularly scheduled meetings effectively with all participating parties within the Total Joint Excellence Program, such as unit staff, medical director, other physicians and key staff.

Develop and maintain standardized systems of care with the surgeons, including pre-op, post-op and discharge orders.

Maintain effective communications with team members and Medical Center departments. Build relationships successfully with various internal and external stakeholders.

Serve as the clinical resource for joint replacement care best practice by educating nurses and physicians, monitoring patient care in real time, and advocating for necessary elements of care. Develop and help maintain standardized care plans with the surgeons and other key clinical areas including pre-op, post-op and discharge orders.

Ensure appropriate pre-op education and preparation for each patient prior to surgery. Responsible for developing and overseeing pre and post op teaching classes. Coordinate and distribute teaching materials to physician’s offices. Oversees the development and on-going editing of all program forms and materials.

Responsible for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities to include, but limited to tracking surgical outcomes, patient satisfaction, clinical/customer service standards, patient complications, denied days, hospital-wide survey results, nurse call back results, length of stay and volumes, etc. and other areas as need determines. Responsible for developing and implementing improvement plans and other patient satisfaction activities.

Attend and maintain membership on appropriately assigned committees. Chairs the Total Joint Excellence Committee, in partnership with the Unit Manager.

Demonstrate good financial / resource stewardship. Identify patient amenities and secure necessary resources to administer the services.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

Current Washington or Multistate RN license required by date of hire OR Washington Physical Therapist license.

American Heart Association/American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers required by date of hire.

Demonstrated skill in teaching adults of varying competency level is required. Must be able to design and implement instructional modules. (Required)

Excellent verbal and written skills. (Required)

The ability to interact with all medical center departments and to work independently on projects. (Required)

The ability to demonstrate a courteous, caring and understanding attitude toward patients, families, co-workers, visitors and physicians. (Required)

The ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively communicate with all levels of hospital staff, physicians and patients. (Required)

Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)

Minimum of 3 years experience as a clinical RN or PT preferred.
