Overview
The Accounting Specialist is a key member of the Client Accounting & Advisory Services team. This individual performs a variety of transactional accounting duties, as well as administrative tasks for various clients, with supervision from various members of the CAAS team. The Accounting Specialist is tasked with providing accurate and timely accounting and finance duties for our various client engagements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Records/reviews accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other cash transactions.
Utilizes Bill.com to process high volumes of invoices for client accounts payable needs.
Produces client invoicing for certain CAAS client engagements.
Responsible for various internal CAAS administrative duties.
Assists staff accountant with client fixed asset tracking and recording.
Assists various engagement teams with the coordination of on-going processes to obtain required data and reporting materials.
Prepares and records simple journal entries with supervision of staff/senior accountant.
Prepares simple bank account reconciliations with supervision of staff/senior accountant.
May be asked to participate in various client projects run by Controller/Assistant Controller.
Knowledge and Skills:
At least a beginner knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Outlook, Adobe).
Experience using QuickBooks Online and Desktop a plus.
Knowledge of Bill.com a plus.
Basic knowledge of various accounting software systems a plus.
Attention to detail is very important for success.
Strong analytical skills necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, while being well organized with the ability to prioritize.
Education and Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in accounting/finance or 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
