OVERVIEW
The mission of Spokane Sports is to strengthen our community through the power of Sports. We create, bid on, and host impactful sports events that drive economic impact. Spokane Sports collaborates with local, regional, and national partners to make Spokane a premier sports destination.
The intent of the internship program is to provide opportunities to undergraduate/graduate students for course credit and valuable hands-on experience in large-event management. Spokane Sports will provide a diverse, behind-the-scenes experience and interns will have the opportunity to contribute to world-class events for clients and patrons. The internship program will allow participants to grow their resume and contribute meaningfully to the mission of Spokane Sports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Successful candidates will have strong organizational and communications skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft/Google Platforms preferred.
Successful candidates will also have a proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and have a strong attention to detail.
Flexible schedule and ability to work a non-standard workweek.
Ability and willingness to travel to regional and national events as necessary.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., move and set up equipment on site, and willingness to participate in event-related manual labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Post-Event Administration Position (~5 hrs./week)
Hotel data collection
Hotel block management
Reconciliation of event budgets
Provide final numbers to update our CRM
Help manage inventory and event materials
Sponsorship Administration/Youth Sports Awards Position (~5hrs./week)
Coordination of the 2025 Spokane Youth Sports Awards
Sponsorship fulfillment needs
Proof of performance
Coordination of sponsor assets and on-site presence
Sponsorship data collection
Implementation of Sponsor CX software and asset management
Internship Program Details
5 hours/week. Flexible hours with internship taking place sometime on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between the hours of 9am and 3pm
