We are currently seeking a highly experienced Cyber Security Systems Engineer—at the Manager or Subject Matter Expert (SME) level—to support the security accreditation and assessment of multiple applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of system security, risk management, and compliance, and a proactive approach to working with both technical teams and accreditation stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process for multiple applications
Use customer-specific tools to manage accreditations and generate security documentation
Develop system security plans, risk assessments, SOPs, and contingency plans
Collaborate with accreditation staff to ensure systems meet compliance and security standards
Perform system hardening on Windows and Linux environments, including patching, securing ports and protocols, and configuring security groups
Conduct technical briefings and Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Define and enforce security assessment criteria for development teams
Provide expert-level guidance on cloud security best practices, particularly with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Apply agile methodologies to security engineering processes
Use vulnerability scanning tools to identify, report, and mitigate system risks
Implement risk mitigation frameworks in line with organizational policies
Ensure systems meet encryption and secure communication standards
Support secure implementation across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Proven experience in security hardening for both Windows and Linux systems
Deep understanding of risk mitigation frameworks and their application to enterprise security
Expertise in encryption standards and secure data practices
Familiarity with secure SDLC principles and practices
Strong collaboration and communication skills in fast-paced, compliance-driven environments
