Benefit Analyst, Retirement Plans

Opportunity
As a key member of the Global Benefits Center of Expertise (COE), the Benefit Analyst - Retirement Plans supports the administration, accuracy, and compliance of the company's qualified and nonqualified pension, 401(k), and deferred compensation plans. This role requires in-depth knowledge of plan documents, compliance standards, and administrative systems. The analyst collaborates with external partners, HR, and other departments to manage participant-level data, oversee communications, and ensure seamless plan operations. This role also involves developing and executing operational enhancements, maintaining compliance, and assisting with participant education.
Specific Responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert on all matters related to the company's retirement plans.
Ensure the accuracy and compliance of retirement plan processes, including pension calculations, participant enrollments, contributions, and distributions.
Provide support to associates and HR partners by educating them on plan provisions, administrative processes, and system outputs.
Oversee participant correspondence, including QDRO processing, documentation, and tracking.
Ensure the accurate maintenance of retirement plan files (electronic and paper) and internal case management systems.
Coordinate monthly and annual pension administration tasks, including data reviews and error corrections.
Manage and maintain plan administration systems, ensuring accuracy of calculations and updates to demographic logic.
Develop comprehensive operational procedures and ensure they reflect current practices and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., HRIS, Payroll) to coordinate system programming for retirement plan eligibility and data accuracy.
Lead data collection for annual audits and government filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Develop participant-level reporting and data analysis to identify trends or inaccuracies.
Assist with retirement plan communications including reviewing and distributing plan materials to associates.
Support participants with retirement and projection calculations through the pension self-service system.
Manage special projects related to plan administration, including deferred compensation enrollments and retirement plan changes.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders on ad hoc projects and initiatives to support plan improvements.

Skills/Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a preferred focus in math, business administration, accounting, finance, or related field.
5+ years of benefits administration experience, including a minimum of 3 years of equivalent work experience with defined benefit retirement plans.
Familiar with compliance and reporting requirements applicable to defined benefit qualified and nonqualified pension and 401(k) plans.
Established track record of developing and implementing project plans and administrative processes.
Proficiency with pension administration/participant database systems.
Experienced at communicating technical pension and 401(k) topics with plan participants.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills with high proficiency in Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of associates on moderate and high complexity benefit plan questions.
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
