The Multi-Family Senior Estimator is critical to providing accurate and timely estimates/proposals for all Multifamily job projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Creation of Project Estimates and Proposals
Accurately estimate and communicate assumptions through a detailed project proposal
Correctly build project estimates utilizing RTMC estimating tools in Fly sheet; all estimates and proposals to by synchronized and match specific job requirements
Routinely review estimates with VP of Business Development and the RTMC Estimating Team
Identify and communicate value-engineering opportunities to customer
Periodically meet with customers to review proposals once developed
Department Support
Work alongside and train the Junior Estimators on both industry best practices and RTMC standards
Attentively participate in BDM meetings; take minutes, review status of builder, IN and FL work, holding individuals accountable for their responsibilities
Rigorously audit contracts and markup scope; send contracts to appropriate stakeholders for review
Confidently establish and build strong relationships with customers
Internal and Project Support
Efficiently work as a key liaison between contractor and RTMC through the preconstruction process, ensuring that the contractor’s expectations for materials, schedule, and scope of work are clearly communicated to both the customer and pre-start group. Includes, but not limited to:
Kickoff meetings and documents
Completion of final proposal, facilitating creation of Job Numbers, obtaining CAD files, etc.
Readily assist inside project engineers/Pre-start with submittals, ensuring accuracy of items submitted
Smoothly transition project to Pre-Start by thoroughly providing all information requested on the checklist
QUALIFICATIONS
Clear, effective communications skills – both written and verbal
Intermediate mathematical abilities
Aptitude for prioritizing and coordinating a variety of tasks
Independent and proactive problem-solving and critical thinking
Disposition for accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
Willingness to accept feedback and make corrections as needed
Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data
Proficient in using basic office equipment
Mastery of Microsoft Word and Excel plus Internet and email; proficient with the remainder of the Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to investigate, be resourceful and self-sufficient
A high school diploma or GED is required; college degree preferred, or 5 years of field experience (plumbing and HVAC)
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday
LOCATION: On-site
SALARY: $110,000-$138,000 Annually, Exempt
