Sr. Logistics Analyst

The primary responsibilities of the Logistics Analyst include generating and maintaining reporting, cleaning and aggregating data, and supporting the broader logistics department.

Responsibilities

Inbound/Outbound Shipment Support (35%)

Manage the logistics lane and mode bid process to evaluate and recommend the top 3 carriers for each transportation mode (air/ocean/premium ocean including CFS)

Freight Coordination to ensure data flow is aligned with the physical movement of the freight.

Recommend freight strategies to improve ex-factory through delivery to improve carrier performance and reduce freight expenses.

Provide carriers with a capacity forecast for each freight mode to project the capacity required for each mode and carrier.

Interface with other departments to resolve problems with timely delivery or disposition of order cancellations.

Support Supply chain and operations team in decision making and stakeholder requests with relevant reporting and transportation analysis.

Developing, evaluating and revising logistics policies, procedures and plans

Researching supply chain issues to identify potential problems and preemptively address issues and creating recovery plans

Validate shipping paperwork is accurate and available for each shipment.

Data Analytics and Reporting (60%)

Maintain and create reporting around KPIs (transit time, cost, service, etc.), as well as ad hoc analysis

Develop reports to provide visibility for shipments from PO creating through customer receipt.

Collaborate with other departments to identify reporting gaps and develop processes to close gaps.

Coordinate 3PL consolidated freight service (CFS) relationship for international air and ocean to validate documents and load accuracy.

Extract item master/shipping data from multiple databases: WMS, ERP, PIM Core, TMS etc.

Gathers, analyzes, and organizes data necessary to track current performance of logistics service providers and for evaluation of new transportation lane alternatives for new customers and/or supply alternatives based on economics, reliability, and operational factors for both short and long-term opportunities

Analyze and monitor trends in global freight cost per recommend opportunities to positively impact freight cost.

Evaluate supply chain network performance and providing month performance results

Other duties as assigned (5%)

Skills and Characteristics

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Advance Microsoft Excel User (Macros, Data validation, Lookup, Index match, Data Queries, Conditional Formatting, Sum Product etc.)

Proficient in Power BI, SQL, Smartsheet, Microsoft Access etc.

Intuitive understanding of how logistics performance affects upstream and downstream stakeholders

Familiarity with common systems (ERP, WMS, TMS, etc.)

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships

An insatiable intellectual curiosity

Ability to work independently

Qualifications

5+ years of logistics work experience required

5+ years of experience with Supply Chain Operating Systems required (WMS, TMS, picking solutions, Network Modeling)

5+ years of experience using Advanced Microsoft Excel Functions

5+ years of experience international air and ocean shipping experience required

5+ years of experience in data management and data organization required

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business analytics or engineering can be substituted for years of experience

Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
