Position: Human Resource Generalist

Position Description:
The HR Generalist is a key member of the human resources team, responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role focuses on hourly recruiting, retention strategies, employee engagement, reporting, and enhancing the overall employee experience. The HR Generalist will work closely with the Director of HR and collaborate with plant leadership to ensure a positive and empowered workplace.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing and screening, interviewing, and onboarding
Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely placement of qualified candidates that align with Zumbiel’s core values
Maintain relationships with employment agencies and community partners to support hiring goals
Assist with the development and implementation of retention strategies that enhance overall employee experience
Compile and report relevant HR metrics to Director of HR, including staffing KPIs
Attend hiring events and job fairs, including an on-site hiring event in the fall
Assist with coordinating company events
Assist with open enrollment
Serve as backup for hourly payroll processing
Other duties as assigned, including special projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred
Proven experience in HR generalist or related HR roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, and retention best practices
Experience developing and delivering training programs for diverse employee groups
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Experience with HRIS and ATS systems, preferably Paycor
Experience in a manufacturing setting
Must be authorized to work in the United States
