QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Six (6) months of experience in performing receptionist or general clerical duties or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Operate a multi-line telephone system, computer, and other standard office equipment; Typing and computer skills; Strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Knowledge of standard office procedures

General knowledge of the community and needs of pupils

Handle a high volume of telephone calls with courtesy, speed, and accuracy

Reasonable bookkeeping knowledge

Poised, diplomatic and congenial manner; Well-groomed appearance

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOALS: This position is responsible for the professional and efficient managing of visitors, consumers, telephone calls and messages, as well as a variety of clerical duties that support office support functions, including word processing and filing; and performs related duties as assigned; information and referral and the operation and presentation of a professional office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform clerical duties, such as filing, typing, copying, relaying messages, and operating office machines.

Perform secretarial duties for principal by arranging appointments and maintaining an appointment calendar, receiving visitors, answering and screening all telephone calls.

Do all reports, both routine and special as required or assigned.

Receives, sorts, and delivers mail; prepares outgoing routine and volume mail

Answers telephone; takes and delivers messages; helps students, faculty, and staff as necessary

Keeps staff attendance, payroll records, and submits periodically to supervisor for review and approval.

Ensures completion of paperwork, sign-in, and security procedures.

Notify parents in case of emergency.

Lend and collect lunch money from school emergency lunch funds.

Request maintenance needs.

Request all transportation needsnormal, special and emergencyto transportation.

Requisition and keep account of materials and supplies. Receives, unpacks, stores, issues, and inventories supplies and equipment.

Handle inquiries about school zone, enrollment, and instructional program.

Act as liaison between school and PTA: prepare materials for PTA activities.

Perform such other duties as assigned by the Principal.
