Job Description: The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.

Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

The purpose of this job is to provide administrative and clerical support that includes assisting in overseeing in the county's Archives assigned department.

Work involves assisting department management with general reception, preparing reports, correspondence, and other materials; entering and retrieving information from department databases; maintaining automated and manual files; and assisting callers, customers, and/or visitors.

This job is performed under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.

Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

* Provides high-level customer service; answers a multi-line switchboard by answering incoming calls to the county and transferring calls to the appropriate department.

* Performs data entry and uses a handheld scanner on barcodes for automated records tracking systems.

* Assists in maintaining accurate location and status of each box stored in the warehouse through the current software program being used by the County.

* Operates a full-sized panel van daily.

* Maintains security and integrity of items while they are being transported.

* Pick up and deliver boxed files to the departments throughout the County.

Boxes may weigh up-to 40 pounds.

* Process mail by using an advanced mailing and shipping system designed for high-volume, automated mail processing machine in accordance with USPS standards.

* Operates a platform lift with a maximum height of 15 feet * Assist with final disposition and destruction activities.

* Communicate with internal and external customers as needed to coordinate services * Ability to work as a team member.

* Performs related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires High school diploma or GED; supplemented by six (6) months of clerical or administrative support experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Physical Demands: * Work is mostly indoors with some outdoor work.

Indoor work is in a well-lighted, air-conditioned office or facility setting with lifting of medium materials up to 40 pounds.

* Performs light to medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, twisting, virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 40 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.

* Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): * None.

Special Certifications and Licenses: * Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

* Requires Aerial Work Platform Safety JLG MSP Course -to be obtained employment.

* Requires Defensive Drivers Safety Course - to be obtained employment.
