What You Will do in this Role: * Enter orders into computer, verifies printout and inputs verified orders to request nursing services, equipment and diagnostic and laboratory tests and procedures.
* Coordinate OR procedure scheduling with Charge Nurse/OR Director, Anesthesia and physician's offices.
* Coordinate with Director to collect and maintain departmental stats; i.e., "time delays and overtime graphs". * Receive incoming phone calls, takes messages and relays messages, transfers call to appropriate staff to meet patient/staff needs.
* Make assessments of requested needs based on knowledge of situation and provides or notifies appropriate individual.
* Assist in maintaining patient medical records in a secure, orderly and confidential manner.
* Accurately post each procedure daily in patient database.
* Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
* Communicate with members of the health care team and other appropriate parties as necessary in the delivery of services.
* Communicate daily schedule with Charge Nurse and/or Director of Operating Room and Anesthesia.
Obtains information necessary for case scheduling from physician offices.
Coordinates request of all involved to facilitate development of daily surgery schedule.
What Qualifications You Will Need: * High school diploma or GED.
* 1 - 2 years' experience demonstrating responsibility as a unit secretary or scheduler experience in a healthcare setting.
Your Shift: Full Time 7am-3pm LHSH Incentives * Flexible Scheduling * No mandatory overtime Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients.
We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, urology, and general surgery.
We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms, 4 fully operating OR rooms, 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds spread over three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms.
