Machinist Apprenticeship

The Machinist Apprenticeship will prepare you to have the necessary skills to set up and operate conventional and special purpose machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.

The apprenticeship will conclude at the completion of two years, successful completion of the program will result in an offer of full-time regular employment.

The Machinist Apprentice will work with the ATC apprentice instructor and Business Unit Manager.

This position will utilize hands on experience in the ATC machine shop along with 150 hours of academic instruction for the first year.

How You Will Make A Difference: * Analyze drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances * Set and control machine factors.

* Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories.

* Machine and grind parts to specification.

* Verify conformance of parts to specification using precision measuring instruments.

* Operate conventional machining centers.

* Heat treat machined parts on occasion.
