Nestled directly on the pristine sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach, our resort combines timeless style with modern flair, offering unique guest experiences, oceanfront dining, and memorable events. We are now seeking a dedicated, hands-on Chief Engineer to take charge of all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure our resort runs seamlessly, safely, and efficiently.

Position Summary:

As the Chief Engineer, you will lead our Engineering team with a hands-on approach-working side by side with your team to ensure the hotel is in excellent working order. You'll be responsible for maintaining all physical facilities and operating systems while actively participating in inspections, repairs, installations, and project planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and work alongside the Engineering Team in the maintenance of all hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool systems, fire/life safety, elevators, kitchen equipment, and other mechanical systems.

Establish and enforce preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

Conduct daily property walkthroughs to identify and address maintenance needs.

Collaborate with the Rooms Division, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues that impact the guest experience.

Serve as the property's Safety Officer-ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and OSHA regulations.

Manage the energy conservation program and sustainability initiatives to control utility consumption.

Lead capital project planning and implementation in conjunction with ownership and senior management.

Respond to guest service calls and emergencies with urgency and professionalism.

Hire, train, and schedule engineering staff; foster a strong team culture rooted in accountability, pride, and service. Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years of engineering or maintenance leadership in a full-service hotel or resort environment.

Proven experience managing building systems: HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, BMS, fire panels, and more.

Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable with tools, ladders, lifts, and manual labor.

Strong knowledge of life safety systems, building codes, ADA regulations, and preventive maintenance.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to lead by example with a hands-on work ethic and a service-driven mindset.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (e.g., HotSOS, ALICE, or similar).

Must be available for emergency calls, weekends, holidays, and after-hours support as needed.

Technical certifications (EPA Universal, CPO, OSHA 30, Electrical, etc.) are highly preferred. What We Offer:
