Job description:

· Prepare construction estimates and proposals based on plans and specifications. Estimates will be a mix of hard bid and negotiated projects.

· Must have the ability to prepare schematic level estimates for projects in early design stages.

· Solicit bids and proposals from subcontractors, suppliers, and other vendors in preparation of construction estimates. Includes reviewing bids for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the plans and specifications.

· Prepare accurate material take-offs.

· Develop written scope of work for all trades.

· Prepare preliminary project schedules and timelines.

· Negotiate vendor purchases and subcontract agreements.

· Develop and track project budgets.

· Assist the Project Management Staff on Change Order pricing during construction.

· Fostering existing relationships with Owners, Clients, and Vendors as well as develop new relationships.

· Have the ability to step in and manage a project from estimating through completion if the need arises.

· Attend pre-bid meetings as required.

· Attend certain networking and business development related functions.

Desired Qualifications:

We are currently seeking an estimator that meets the following job qualifications:

· Preferred but not required: B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction estimator.

· Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.

· Experience with scheduling, purchasing, estimating, as well as management of field personnel and subcontractors.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.

· Must have strong attention to detail.

· Must have good time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Project and Excel.

· Experience with BLUEBEAM and PROCORE is a plus.

· Applicants should have good client and employer references.
