Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. Spanning air, land, sea, and space, we are developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too. We put our customers first – exemplified by our mission: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with BAE Systems.
BAE Systems Engineering is looking for an IC CAD/EDA tools engineer to help support our Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit design team as we develop novel RF and mixed-signal circuits in small geometry CMOS (<45nm) and cutting-edge SiGe BiCMOS processes. These designs are funded through internal and customer R&D efforts and require innovative circuit architectures and active research to meet next-generation performance goals.
Our cutting edge mixed-signal ICs often require high-performance RF/microwave (such as LNAs, mixers, VCOs, baluns, vector modulators) and mixed-signal (ADCs, DACs, Fractional-N PLLs) circuit designs that rely heavily on simulations and verification to meet stringent defense performance requirements in a secure enterprise environment. As such, the candidate is expected to work closely with IT and across disciplines with digital and analog designers in a dynamic tools environment. The candidate should also have considerable expertise in the Linux environment, IC CAD tools, PDKs, and semiconductor foundry capability.
Responsibilities include:
Develop flows, alongside designers and EDA tools vendors, that support analog, digital, mixed-signal, and EM simulations, schematic and layout entry, design analysis, and verification.
Work with EDA vendors to integrate AI/ML algorithms into EDA tool flows
Write scripts and utilities to standardize and streamline design flows for improved design quality and efficiency
Maintain PDK technology files and verification decks.
Lead the IP reuse effort within the Microelectronics organization
Work with IT teams to move compute into scalable cloud-based platforms
