What We’re Looking For
A skilled software engineer with expertise in Java, Python, R, JavaScript, Azure and JSON.
Provide expertise regarding technical roadmap for DHCS to identify and highlight emerging technologies for potential introduction into the DHCS environment to improve the efficiency and quality of DHCS surveyss.
Strong knowledge of Java and Python and Azure Cloud technologies to tackle complex problems.
A commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Have strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities and Contributions:
Gather requirements, develop code, test, debug, and support applications.
Participate in creating detailed technical specifications.
Participate in implementing software systems using Java, Python and R technologies.
Perform testing and research of software systems to enhance performance.
Develop the technical roadmap for DHCS to identify and highlight emerging technologies for potential introduction into the DHCS environment to improve the efficiency and quality of DHCS surveys
Use SQL programming skill to:
o CRUD Operations
o Execute survey data integration, extraction & standardization tasks
o Create databases for processing and analysis
o Coach junior IT Specialists on programming to support DHCS surveys
Prepare programming specifications such as inputs, outputs, flow diagrams, decision logic tables, and linkages with other applications systems; developing block diagrams and program coding; and testing, validating, and documenting programs
Develop testing criteria and tests to validate programming scenarios
Test software by exercising all logic paths. Documents test results and modifies program code to debug the
program.
Experienced with MS Azure cloud technologies.
Ability to lead integrated technical meetings with other IT staff that possess a variety of specialized
skillsets.Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
Must, at a minimum, have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
The candidate must, at a minimum, have the following skills/experience qualifications:
Programming experience must include extensive experience programming in Java, Python, R, JavaScript, and JSON.
Must have experience working in different frameworks including Eclipse IDE, Apache, and Spring.
Must be familiar with XML technologies ranging from XPath, XSLT, Schematron, XQuery, XProc, etc.
and their implementation (especially outside of a SQL database environment).
Must have experience designing and implementing APIs.
Must be familiar with EHR data in the form of HL7 datatypes, RIM, and CDA.
Must be familiar with SOA and microservices architectures.
Must have at a minimum base SAS experience.
Must have at least five years of experience working with cloud technologies.
Master’s degree or higher in health sciences, social sciences, statistics, or a related field.
Experience in survey methodology and using statistical techniques for analyzing data from complex surveys.
Experience using statistical analysis software; preferably SAS. Experience with R, SQL, or Python is also recommended.Experience with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and/or the healthcare domain is a plus.
