Position: Custodian

Shift: Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (during summer)

Location: Position is split among two buildings: District Office and Transportation Garage

SUMMARY:

Maintain a clean District Administrative Building and Transportation Garage for students, staff and members of the community in order to protect their health and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clean designated spaces, equipment, and materials, including School Buses

Perform conference room, athletic field, ticket booth, and equipment set-up and breakdown for activities and events at the District Office, High School, and athletic field.

Perform general labor functions, including unloading bulk material from trucks

Maintain building and grounds security

Report building, grounds, and equipment conditions that may need remedied or repaired

Participate in fire and emergency drills, know emergency procedures, and the location and use of first-aid and fire fighting equipment

Move furniture and equipment

Assists visitors utilizing the facilities

Responsible for the preservation and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment, as well as assisting in the repair of equipment and facilities

Operate various floor equipment, including battery-powered auto-scrubbers/buffers and high-speed/high-torque propane burnishers

Perform snow-removal, both the operation of fuel-powered snow removal equipment and manual removal using a shovel

Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED certificate.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, students, staff, administrators and community members.

Exhibit effective communication skills.

Being proper stewards of district property, materials and equipment.

Work with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.

Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all inspection regulations, safety codes and district requirements and school board policies.

Ability to push, pull and carry a minimum of 50 lbs

Successful candidate will be required to take post-offer; pre-employment drug test and work capacity evaluation ("WCE"). The WCE includes various physical attributes including push, pull, lift and carry.
