Reporting to the Executive Director of Facilities Management, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for execution of assigned portfolio of projects from conceptual to close out. The Senior Project Manager will provide management & administration of assigned projects; management of the design and construction process; management of consulting architects, engineers, relevant consultants and contractors; ongoing project review for compliance with Stamford Health criteria for design, performance, constructability, maintainability and compatibility with existing systems; conduct field/site inspections during construction and before turnover to ensure compliance with design; preparation of bid documents for consulting services and project construction; development of project budgets; and project administration.

He/she will analyze and provide technical leadership in solving maintenance, code questions and operational issues. The Senior Project Manager will oversee staff, vendors and contractors for Facilities Dept projects and/or Stamford Health projects.

This position will be responsible for meeting and complying with The Joint Commission, CMS and AHJs standards and any regulations that may apply.

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will oversee all JCAHO, CMS, AHJs and regulatory aspects of assigned projects to ensure compliance through regular document audits and process testing.

Keeps projects on budget and on schedule with minimal supervision.

Fiscally responsible for project budget planning and administration while being able to course correct if needed. Develops and maintains detailed project budgets and/or expense tracking relating to renovation projects, facility upgrades and equipment upgrades.

Possess a proactive approach to capital planning/budgeting and assists in the development and maintenance of relevant 5-year capital plans.

Will negotiate contracts through the RFP process and ensuring contract compliance. Assures adherence to the quality control standards of the department and performs regular existing contract review. Makes recommendations for expense reducing initiatives on assigned projects.

Presents issues and solution proposals to clients and leadership in order to allow informed decisions.

Ensures design supports a healing environment for our patients, staff, and visitor's needs.

The Project Manger shall include in all projects Person-Centered Care (Planetree) in all designs, where applicable.

As needed, inspects remodeling and construction work for quality and accuracy. Reviews all A&E drawings prior to project commencement with the respective operation teams to ensure adherence to organizational standards and overall function.

Monitors day-to-day work activities by conducting regular field audits of work.

Must act on deficiencies identified during inspections or field audits.

Develop and implement programs that will enhance the quality of service delivered by the Project Team and the Facilities Management department with a strong focus on loop closure.

Responsible for updating and reviewing existing drawings, data collection, and Facilities databases as needed to meet the department and organizational goals and initiatives.

Coordinate projects with various departments including but not limited to EOC, Infection Control, Regulatory Committees as well as others as needed.

Responsible for Commission Activities on assigned Projects that illustrates the effectiveness of installed systems.

Coordinates the appropriate turnover documents and ensure all required training is successful completed by end users.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering, Technical degree or Construction Management. Masters preferred.

Must be familiar with the various healthcare systems, nurse call, fire alarm, security systems, electrical, plumbing, medical gas systems and HVAC Systems.

Must be familiar with state, local and federal codes and inspection procedures relating to Life Safety and Construction.

Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role. Preferred in a healthcare setting.

Computer competency required, use of electronic file management, Microsoft Office suite, and MS Project. CM Software, such as Bluebeam/Procore etc. or AutoCAD proficiency preferred.

Possesses superior written and verbal communication skills, and excellent customer (both internal and external) service abilities.

Possesses exceptional organization and time management skills.

High level of competency of FGI Guidelines, CT Building Code, and JCAHO rules and regulations.

Is a creative thinker who is a problem solver, poised under pressure.

Must demonstrate business and management principles involved in contract negotiations management, strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, construction means and methods.

Design Capacity: Knowledge of design programming, development and coordination.
