Assistant Professor of Education

Job Description

The Education Department has an opening for an Assistant Professor of Education.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, teaching a variety of courses within the Teacher Education Preparation Program, supervising clinical placements within local school districts, advising departmental students, and participating as a faculty member of Huntington University’s Teacher Education Preparation Program.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others.

● Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ.

● PhD or EdD preferred, master’s degree in education required.

● Classroom teaching experience in k-12 public school system(s) required.

● Hold a current teaching license.

● Energetic, student-centered, creative, effective mentor for students.

● Excellent communication skills.

● Ability to problem-solve.

● Ability to work collaboratively with others in a variety of settings.

● Commitment to continuous program improvement.

● Self-motivated, with the ability to work and plan independently

Work Schedule: This is a full-time, 10-month, faculty exempt position.
