Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for performing duties related to the delivery of student financial assistance for both incoming and returning undergraduate students, in support of institutional enrollment and retention goals as well as in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as University policies and procedures. In all actions, provides personalized attention to students while adhering to federal and state laws as they relate to financial aid administration, rules and regulations governing University, and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to alumni and the community. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
Hiring Range
$45,868 to $49,000, depending upon experience

Evaluates the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and required supporting documentation to determine eligibility for federal, state and/or University-funded financial aid programs. Performs needs analysis and verification in accordance with federal regulations as well as University policies and procedures in the assessment and awarding of student financial aid by reviewing and interpreting complex regulatory guidelines relating to general financial aid, scholarships and team specialty areas. Monitors recipients' satisfactory academic progress in accordance with federal regulations and University requirements.
Counsels prospective and enrolled undergraduate and graduate students and their families on the various financial aid programs and opportunities at the University. Advises on requirements and procedures in order to be considered for and maintain financial aid awards through scholarships, loans, grants and student employment opportunities. Identifies and provides referral sources for student issues as necessary and/or appropriate. Continually strives to improve the student experience and provide a quality customer service experience.
Assumes responsibility for specific assignments and/or specialty areas as designated by the Associate Director including, but not limited to, the Federal Work-study Program, family financial planning and other related financial aid workshops, Pell Grants, Direct Loan Programs, state scholarship/grants, the University's endowed and special scholarship programs, early awareness initiatives and student financial aid publications. Identifies and resolves complex problems in areas of specialization and stays up-to-date on changes to regulations, policies, and best practices related to area of responsibility. Provides assistance and guidance to other financial aid staff regarding policies and procedures compliance, student employment and scholarship opportunities.
Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with various University constituents well as external agencies, serving as a liaison in efforts to assist students in procuring financial aid. Maintains accurate records and databases regarding confidential student information in compliance with both regulatory guidelines and institutional data integrity standards.
Conducts on and off campus presentations, seminars, and/or workshops for prospective students and families. Assists the Office of Admission at various on-campus recruitment functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
