POSITION OVERVIEW

Development, implementation and administration of the Security Management Program, Life Safety Program and Security Operations Center Program while maintaining strategy and policies to protect the physical safety of all property and assets owned by Gentex.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Develop and implement security strategies, policies, procedures and programs that address all key issues and concerns for compliance with company, insurance and government requirements or regulations.

Design and deploy cost effective and efficient strategies to safeguard Gentex people, property and business interests. Focus areas include personnel (employee protection, workplace violence prevention), physical security (alarms and protective technology), investigations, and business continuity (crisis management).

Direct, oversee and resolve investigations and security related incidents.

Direct and oversee the operation of life safety systems, devices and equipment, including sprinkler system, and all relevant activities, inspections, maintenance, etc.

Direct and oversee the operation of the Security Operations Center to include oversight of security technology systems and procure upgrades across Gentex.

Track and report on the effectiveness of security investigations and incidents to senior leaders using metrics and data.

Supervise Gentex security teams to include; Security Specialists, Security Operations Center employees, and the Life Safety Coordinator.

Other duties as assigned. HOW YOU'LL DO IT

Effective leadership of direct teams and indirect stakeholders in daily activities and crisis events. Maintain strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (Legal, HR, IT, Executives, Operations, Law Enforcement and Public Safety) to safeguard Gentex by providing direction and risk mitigation strategies.

Maintain expert knowledge and competencies to provide Gentex with state-of-the-art policies and processes, technology, and operational best practices.

Maintain a broad network of external relationships to leverage effective strategies and best practices.

Utilize best practices for crisis management, investigations, and security related issues with a focus on attention to detail, ownership mentality, unpretentious management, devotion to quality and a devotion to innovative solutions.

Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace. WHAT TO BRING

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Criminal Justice or other relevant degree.

8-10 years of experience managing a security and life safety program in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills, (communication, teamwork, attention to detail).

Proven leadership skills including people, project management, and crisis response.

Integrity and effectiveness under pressure. WHAT WILL HELP

A strong network of security professionals and public safety officials both locally and federally.

Working knowledge and experience in a global security operations center.

Working knowledge of alarm systems, card access systems, video surveillance and fire suppression systems.

Incident Command training and experience during emergencies.
