Release of Information Specialist

Location: Jacksonville, FL 32254
Pay: $16.25/hr
Contract Length: 5 months with potential for temp-to-perm
This is a great opportunity for individuals who thrive in administrative roles, especially in healthcare or records management. You ll be responsible for accurately processing medical record requests, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, and maintaining high standards of confidentiality and service.
What You ll Do:
Process medical record requests in compliance with company policy and HIPAA regulations
Verify the requestor s identity and authorization for information release
Reproduce documents via fax, scan, or photocopy within required timeframes
Track all request statuses using internal release of information (ROI) software
Ensure all data entry and documentation are accurate before releasing information
Generate cover letters, invoices, and pre-payment notices
Finalize and close out requests upon receipt of payment
Navigate multiple healthcare systems and tools with consistency and accuracy
Assist with other administrative tasks as neededWhat You Bring:
High School Diploma or GED required;Associate s Degree or RHIT certification preferred
1 3 years of experience in healthcare, records management, or customer service
Working knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Proficiency with computers and data entry systems
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8: 00 AM 6: 00 PM
