Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Reliability Engineer to join our team. The person selected for this role will work with various engineering teams developing and improving water vapor, peroxide, and hydrazine gas sources used for semiconductor manufacturing lithography and cutting edge thin film deposition tools. They will be involved in various technical projects related to polymers, gas generation, gas and liquid storage and transport, and integration of components into more complicated overall gas delivery solutions. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of reliability in the design and manufacturing of our products. This position requires a strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, product risk management, and various reliability improvement methodologies such as FMEA and accelerated testing. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for designing reliability studies, setting up reliability test equipment and experiments, working with external testing facilities and suppliers on reliability studies, and root cause analysis of manufacturing and field failures. The ideal candidate would be a seasoned reliability professional who can perform both hands on reliability work and drive overall company reliability improvements by coaching less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Control:

Develop product and process requirements related to reliability of the product.

Oversee verification and validation activities for the products and processes.

Collaborate with safety, design and engineering teams to review and approve design changes.

Product Risk Management:

Identify and assess product risks throughout the development and the rest of the product lifecycle utilizing tools such as dFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Physics of Failure, etc.

Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure product reliability and safety.

Data Analytics:

Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

Develop and implement data-driven quality improvement initiatives.

Failure Analysis:

Investigate product failures to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues.

Reliability Improvement:

Develop and implement reliability improvement programs to enhance product performance and lifespan.

Conduct reliability testing and analysis to verify and validate product designs.

Customer Quality:

Address customer quality concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Collaborate with customer support teams to improve customer satisfaction and product quality.

Process Risk Management:

Identify and assess risks associated with manufacturing processes using pFMEA and other tools.

Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure process stability and product quality. Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Master's or PhD degree preferred. Certifications in reliability engineering (e.g., Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) are advantageous

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in industry working in reliability engineering within sectors such as gas, automotive, aerospace, etc. Hands-on experience building reliability testing setups, accelerated testing, and managing laboratory space is required.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, product risk management (dFMEA, pFMEA, hazard assessments, etc.), and reliability improvement methodologies (Weibull analysis, accelerated testing, Fault Tree analysis, Physics of Failures, etc.). Experience with vacuum and gas systems. Hazardous gases distribution systems experience is strongly preferred.

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics and analysis of reliability data. Ability to summarize and analyze data and produce high quality engineering reports.

Statistics knowledge: Ability to draw statistically valid conclusions using statistical analysis. Experience with JMP, Minitab or similar software is required.

Documentation Skills: Ability to write detailed work instructions and generate reports. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining quality control data.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to cross-functional teams. Ability to write detailed work instructions, create flowcharts and check the work of others.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions. Experience with 8D methodology is preferred.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to coach and mentor engineers and technicians. Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of quality.

Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds.

Must be willing and able to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to work in an ISO Class 6 cleanroom with required cleanroom garb.

This role requires working with dangerous and toxic liquids and gaseous chemicals and strictly following all safety protocols. What We Offer:

The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
