Chaucer Foods is category leader in freeze-dried fruit for segments like snacks, drinks, cereals, and kids snacks in B2C and B2B. The Chaucer Foods team is very international, collaborative, with a strong can-do mentality.
The Americas team is scaling up and looking for an experienced Commercial Business Controller to be the financial business partner for our commercial team, providing strong financial insights, exploring financial strategies, to make the right decisions for the company and our customers. It is required to have a proven record of collaborating successfully with sales and customers in retail (grocery, club store, big box/mass merchandise).
In this role you are the barometer, monitoring our daily and weekly customer performance.
Role & Responsibilities
The Commercial Business Controller's primary role is to be a solid, reliable and challenging business partner for our commercial team and to be the finance lead towards customers. Critical elements in the role are understanding and actively leading revenue growth management (RGM), financial KPIs and insights. Responsibilities are:
Analyzing and managing the financial performance of customers
Delivering weekly financial KPI reports and customer specific financial insights
Working with the sales team on pricing, customer profitability, and overall commercial revenue by providing insights and recommendations based on detailed financial data
Developing promotional strategies, evaluations and recommendations
Delivering and updating financials for budget and mid-year customer plans for current and new markets and current and new products
Requirements:
Master's degree in finance, Business Administration
Highly organized with excellent analytical and communication skills
Team player and passionate to collaborate with people
Ability to work cross functionally within the Americas and global organization
Strategic, savvy and energized by challenges and opportunities
Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools, SAP preferred
Experience with Sales Force is preferred
Strong Excel Skills
Experience:
5+ years of working experience in Finance,
Understanding of Food & Beverages in retail, grocery, club store, mass merchandise
Customer-facing experience managing financial performance of a portfolio of products and introducing new products to national and regional retailers in the US
Location:
The role is hybrid, 50% based in Encino (Los Angeles), with regular (bi-monthly/quarterly) travel.
