Enter and verify patient demographics and insurance information into the Practice Management System appropriately and accurately at each patient encounter; scheduling patients, if applicable.
Appropriately utilizes the Electronic Medical Record System maintaining a working knowledge, including the Desktop, Chart, Appointment and Flag areas scheduling patients, if applicable.
Assembles medical record according to physician office policy filing documents appropriately and timely; alphabetizing files appropriately with a working knowledge of medical record status/location; purging medical records per policy and responding to request for release of medical record in a timely manner.
Maintains orderly work environment by utilizing appropriate resources and maintains supplies necessary to complete job tasks.
Demonstrates evidence of professional development activities and maintains own individual education record recognizing limitation in knowledge and the need for continued education utilizing proper resources to improve knowledge.

Demonstrates knowledge of the referral process obtaining and forwarding Physician Orders to the appropriate party as assigned; informing patient of time of referral appointment and/or outpatient testing; insure patient is informed of any special instructions per physician on testing facility and forwards pertinent patient care records to facility or provider as directed.
Prepares daily batches; reconciles cash drawer, data entry of billing information and charge entry.
