QA Incoming Inspector

Job Description

Position summary

Perform the sampling and inspection activities of incoming materials, labels and products. The inspector must complete all inspection tasks in a timely fashion and is expected to contribute to the goals and objective of the Quality organization.

Skills & Specifications

HS Diploma or above

2+ years previous experience in quality control inspection role (preferably cosmetics/pharmaceutical/medical devices)

Experience in basic inspection hand gauging and related equipment.

Attention to detail.

Visual inspection skills are required.

Strong organizational skills. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Ability to read and follow documents (Standard Operating Procedures)

Knowledge of cGMP requirements

Good math skills plus the ability to convert between Standard and Metric systems.

Excellent communication at all levels both written and verbal.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Computer literate with Excel competency

Job duties

· Conduct sampling, testing and releasing to ensure all items received meet specifications.

· Maintain testing equipment utilized in proper working order.

· Initiate non-conformances and ensure that all non-conformities are appropriately segregated

· Perform inspection of chemicals, componentry, packaging and finished products.

· Determine conformance with inspection documents and specifications.

· Perform detailed documentation of inspection results and ensure that all documentation is in accordance with cGDP requirement.

· Maintain and retain samples and logbook according cGMP requirement.

· Serve as the Quality expert in these areas and ensure that all quality requirements are met. Must maintain the highest degree of customer service, quality, productivity, throughput, dependability, and safety, a clean and organized work environment, and willingness to accept change; must exhibit team cooperative spirit through assistance to others and knowledge sharing.

· May assist in training and development of other less experienced team members to promote continuous improvement.

· Aid in performing ongoing investigations, validations and other unique projects.

· Support management in implementing quality-related directives.

· Adheres to safety rules and procedures.

· Cross-train with QC Raw Material Sampler Capable of lifting 25+ lbs. in weight

· May perform other related responsibilities as requested; Additional tasks may be assigned.
