Seeking a Senior Communications Engineer for the design, development, and testing of radio frequency (RF) and communications systems. This engineer is expected to demonstrate strong understanding of RF, Digital Signal Processing algorithms, and Communications and be able to troubleshoot and solve complex RF or Communications problems.
Requirements:
Requires 5+ years experience in Radio Frequency or Communications Engineering or related
Requires bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Masters degree preferred
Strong experience with Ettus USRPs, UHD, GNURadio, RFNoC
Very experienced with hands-on test/measurement to validate the performance of SDRs or general transceivers
Knowledge of DSP algorithms design and implementation
Knowledge of wireless communication theory and systems.
Experience with Software Defined Radios (SDR)
Experience with digital communication systems, PHY layer topics, channel coding algorithms and modulation theory
Proficient with MATLAB and/or Python and/or C++
Excellent mathematical and problem solving skills
Responsibilities:
Design and implement DSP algorithms
Manage complex engineering projects in a fast-paced environment
Develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships
Use standard laboratory instrumentation for validation and troubleshooting
Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction – contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements
Perform analysis and modeling of complex radio frequency systems
Contribute to customer presentations
Able to provide insight and suggest design modifications based on analysis outcomes, and to apply analysis techniques across a range of technical disciplines
Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies
Expertise in using DSP and SDR software and hardware tools
Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback
Ability to lead a team of engineers
Performs other related duties as assigned
