The Lead Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and servicing of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with all local fire codes and regulations. As a Lead Technician, you will oversee and guide a team of technicians, ensuring that fire alarm systems are properly installed and maintained in both commercial and residential settings. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of fire alarm technologies and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:

· Install and maintain fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings, ensuring proper system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting

· Be the primary point of contact for all on fire alarm and low volt functions

· Lead and mentor a team of fire alarm technicians, providing guidance on technical matters, safety procedures, and best practices

· Coordinate with project management team on daily schedules and project timelines

· Oversee all subcontractors, vendors, laborers and other jobsite staff

· Ensure proper safety is being adhered to on site according to company safety standards

· Attend daily morning meetings

· Handle all daily logs and other necessary job site documentation

· Communicate with engineers, owners, project management staff and other stake holders

· Complete jobsite walks with appropriate parties

· Ensure installation is running smoothly and following project schedules

· Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm systems, ensuring that they are functioning correctly and in compliance with the local fire safety regulations.

· Identify issues or problem areas before they arise

· Diagnose and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, including wiring, sensors, control panels, and alarm devices

· Ensure all fire alarm installations and repairs meet local and national fire safety codes (e.g. NFPA, UL, etc.). Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations.

· Provide training to apprentice technicians, ensuring the team is up-to-date on the latest fire alarm technologies and safety protocols

· Provide on-call support as needed for emergency repairs or system failures

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent is required

· 2-year or 4-year degree in construction management or similar field is preferred but not required

· Minimum 5 years of experience in fire alarm installation, service, and maintenance

· State of Ohio Certification

· Additional fire safety certifications (e.g. NICET) a plus

· Valid driver's license

· OSHA 10 Hour, First/Aid CPR certifications a plus

· In depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, electrical systems, and local fire safety codes

· Proficient in troubleshooting, wiring, and working with fire alarm control panels and peripheral devices

· Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills

· Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively
