Job Title: Scientist I Location: Chester, New Jersey Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite Hours: 8 AM- 5 PM M-F Responsibilities: In this role, you will collaborate with other members within the lab to provide analytical chemistry services to Research & Development Labs, Corporate Quality Groups, Regulatory, and Manufacturing.
Responsible for issuing regular analytical project status reports and written reports upon completion of projects.
Develop and establish in-house analytical testing and characterization capabilities for coatings and raw materials.
Perform analytical testing for corporate R&D, QA/QC, Regulatory, and Manufacturing Conduct wet chemistry and instrument analysis of coatings products and raw materials Collaborate with R&D laboratories in basic and applied research, provide analytical testing results and interpretation Research scientific literature and investigate and develop analytical methodologies Expand analytical testing and characterization capabilities Adhere to all laboratory safety & cleanliness practices Actively seek and leverage internal and external best in class knowledge Capable of managing a team and working as a member on larger complex teams Manage multiple projects simultaneously Manage and train junior scientists Monitor competitive and industry trends Requirements: BS, MS, with 5+ years’ experience in chemistry or science related discipline Broad knowledge of chemistry and hands-on experience of analytical and material characterization methods and instrumentation, i.e., HPLC/MASS, GC/MASS, UV, FTIR, NMR, TEM, SEM, AFM, DSC, and GPC Demonstrated abilities in developing analytical methods and validating testing procedures Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Experience and knowledge in coatings desired Experience with LIMS, lab automation and digitalization are a plus System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
