Position Summary

Department: IU Walter Center for Career Achievement, College of Arts & Sciences Position: Lecturer Rank Code: FL5 The Walter Center for Career Achievement in College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University invites application for full-time (10 month; August – May) non-tenure track position of Visiting Lecturer. There are two positions available. We seek individual(s) with expertise in student development, career development and/or life design who is committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. The candidate(s) will teach up to 16 credits (8 per semester), in courses, including ASCS Q295: Design Your Life and Career and ASCS Q299: Build Your Job and Internship Search Toolkit (or other similar courses). Position will begin August 1, 2025. The initial appointment is for one year. After one year, faculty are considered for promotion to Lecturer with long-term contract. Later promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer for those who develop strong records of teaching excellence and Teaching Professor is possible for candidates who develop strong records of pedagogical leadership. The Walter Center for Career Achievement exists to empower every Arts + Sciences student to turn their diverse talents and passions into successful and rewarding careers. The Visiting Lecturer position will be part of the Walter Center team and will serve a critical role in meeting the goal of career education and planning for every Arts & Sciences student. Departmental Responsibilities: · Teach 16 credit hours of ASCS coursework per academic year · Collaborate with teaching team in curriculum and lesson development · Engage in Walter Center team meetings, including Career Education team and All Staff · Participate in professional development in life design, career development, teaching, coaching, and other topics as appropriate · Contribute to and maintain shared teaching resources, lessons, curriculum, and course evaluation and improvement plans · Represent teaching team in opportunities to share and explain curriculum to stakeholders Salary is $54,000, commensurate with experience and full benefits are included.
