Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

Nature of Work
he fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform specialized work in organizing and supervising programs of play and recreational activities at community centers OR classes and events at The Learning Arts Center for children and adults. The work responsibilities will differ and are dependent on the location in which the incumbent works. The work responsibilities may include: organizing recreational and leisure activities, organizing and instructing classes, maintaining safety and health standards, organizing and maintaining all setup inventory, interpreting rental agreements, working in the box office, maintaining and cleaning classrooms, inspecting and monitoring facility and recreational equipment, promoting interest in overall programs and special activities, and performing other related work, as assigned. This position is skilled and requires qualifications. The employee works with less supervision than the entry-level Recreation Aide. Some of these positions are considered temporary/seasonal hires.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least six (6) months experience in facilitating recreational activities for children and/or adults.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Kind of Examination

The current vacancy is with the City of Montgomery Cultural Affairs Department within the Armory Learning Arts Center. Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application. If more than five qualified applications are received, the application will be scored to rank the qualified applicants on the eligible register and tied scores will not be broken. This register will expire one (1) year after the register date.
