The DuPage Senior Citizens Council/Kane Senior Council (DSCC/KSC) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer-driven organization committed to the well-being, socialization, and health of seniors. DSCC/KSC is the designated Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining provider in DuPage and Kane County.

Our Mission:

DSCC/KSC initiates, delivers, monitors, and coordinates services that promote the ability of older people to live their lives in dignity.

DSCC/KSC is looking for a Full-Time Nutrition Services Specialist-Community Dining to manage Community Dining Services in DuPage & Kane County. Responsibilities include implementing the Community Dining services including senior dance parties, regular community dining and the “Senior Dine” restaurant program. Provides customer service, data entry, tracks performance, and creates reports.

Nutrition Services Specialist- Community Dining Responsibilities/Tasks:

Processes all Community Dining participant information into the databases; monitors and details changes and shares information with Nutrition staff.

Provides customer service to Community Dining participants by visiting locations and through phone contact.

Assists with the execution of the Community Dining, Senior Dance Parties and “Senior Dine” program.

Assists and supports Site Managers as needed; implements approved activities at locations.

Assists with maintaining relationships with key staff at all host locations.

Communicates verbally and with the use of approved tools

Handles Community Dining donations processes and reconciles them

Attends weekly and monthly staff meetings, special training, and supervisory meetings

Complies with all DSCC/KSC office policies, procedures and systems. Follows guidelines, policies and procedures set for the in the Personnel Manual and Nutrition Site Manual and those provided through the Older Americans Act.

Takes on additional tasks as needed in the Nutrition Department.

Job Benefits:

$43,680 - $47,840 ($21-$23) Hour Commensurate with experience

Qualifications:

College Degree relevant to the position or equivalent work experience to the position

Bi-Lingual required (Spanish)

Position requires a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance

Monthly after work hours and weekend availability

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications

Skills/Experience Desired

Ability to solve problems, handle detailed work in a careful, accurate manner, meet deadlines, multi-task oriented, and ability to follow through independently

Must use independent judgment to make decisions and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Cooperative, pleasant, and professional in dealing with all outside DSCC/KSC contacts

Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work

Strong organizational, communication, research, project management, writing skills, PC pro?cient, and Microsoft software

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public at large
