GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This Senior Level Tech position supports/maintains load balancing technologies. This includes F5, as well as other on-prem and cloud-based load balancing technologies we may purchase in the future. The individual will be in charge of patching, maintenance, racking/unracking, and overall management of our existing F5 infrastructure. This position also helps maintain and assign SSL certs, and also serves as a tertiary backup to the VMware and storage administrator. The individual is also responsible for communicating with multiple agencies and providing senior-level expertise on support, services, and technology to management regularly. Individual must be able to assist other teams within the enterprise on various projects, or to help resolve critical issues/outages.

This individual will help with load balancer support

Help monitor, patch, and maintain PROD and TEST F5s

Create and assign SSL certs to agencies

Install/decommission hardware

Ability to lift heavy equipment

Work with vendors to provide quotes for purchases

Provide senior tech knowledge to agencies as well as ETS administration when asked

This individual will take care of Storage Administration

Help monitor, patch, and maintain enterprise storage

Assist in restoring folders/files for agencies

Install/decommission hardware

Work with vendors to provide quotes for purchases

Provide senior tech knowledge to agencies as well as ETS administration when asked

This individual will handle VM Administration

Monitor, patch, and maintain VMs that house agency shares

Restore VMs from storage snaps or the Cohesity backup system

VLAN knowledge for hardware configuration

Backup support for Cloud Administrator

This individual will have frequent customer/agency interaction

Will be communicating with multiple individuals from multiple agencies. This includes individuals with minimal tech experience up to a senior tech level. Interactions/communication may also include Directors, as well as other members of the senior leadership team

This individual will mentor/train team members

Applying knowledge gained in the position to assist other team members. Both in Systems as well as other teams within ETS

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference will be given to those who possess a strong work ethic

Preference will be given to those with the ability to work under strict deadlines and budgets

KNOWLEDGE:

Intermediate knowledge of F5 or other load balancing technologies is a plus to diagnose and repair any sort of complex issues that arise.

A base or intermediate knowledge of VMware is also a plus for this role, as they would be working closely with the Cloud Architect on various issues or configurations.

An intermediate level of networking is also required to set up/configure new F5 appliances.

The ability to communicate with individuals with various levels of experience/knowledge is an absolute necessity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (typically in Computer Technology)

Experience:

1-2 years of progressive work experience in Systems and Infrastructure with acquired knowledge at the level of a CT Systems & Infrastructure Analyst

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

4-6 years of progressive work experience in Systems and Infrastructure with acquired knowledge at the level of a CT Systems & Infrastructure Analyst
