Description and Functions

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Assist in the overall administrative functions of the Agency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

Audit and verify character recognition to match the image of the return in the Excise Tax System.

Analyzes and rejects documents to ASD Rejects for further verification. Process barcode cleanup recognition for proper posting of documents.

Audits and processes all Property Tax Refund applications, using considerable judgment, for the transfer of interface files to the State Auditor's Office for refunds.

It also handles the Administrative duties of the Property Tax Refund program to ensure the program has all of the requirements for each year and all changes are accurately captured and followed.

Endorsers, Opex Mail Openers, 10-key Calculator

Opens and sorts sales/use/mineral tax returns by type and for distribution to the department.

Verifies returns.

Enters checks and corresponding documentation/returns to deposit monies with the State Treasurer's Office. Calculates checks to balance monies received.

Serves as backup for processing and distributing all outgoing and incoming mail for the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Associate's Degree (typically in Records or Data Management)

Experience:

0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Technician

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Technician
