Job Summary:
The job of the Language Arts Learning Lab Instructor is to have consistent
communication with the classroom teachers and the Extend teacher to help meet the needs of all students in relation to language arts.
Key Responsibilities:
In addition to the Employee Handbook and the Faculty Procedures Handbook, the Expectations of the Language Arts Lab Learning Instructor include but are not limited to the following:
Meet with students individually to support their growth inclusive of students below grade level, at grade level or above grade level.
Meet with a small group of students per teacher arrangements and assignment
Meet with students within the parameters of the classroom to support their growth
Teach/support writing strategies and skills
Provide alternate formats of online resources regarding writing concepts
Assist students with reports and projects
Assist in classroom (language arts) in consultation with the classroom and Extend teacher
Provide space and observation of students taking tests
Provide accommodation for students as directed by Extend teacher/Director
Communicate with teachers to discuss students’ needs and objectives
Qualifications
Qualifications:
BA or BS in English or related field
Preferred experience working with High School students
Content knowledge, pedagogy, and faith integration required
Physical Requirements:

Indoor Environment:
The work is generally performed in an office setting, often with controlled temperature, lighting, and ventilation.
Regular Office Hours:
Office jobs typically follow standard working hours, often from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday
Technology Use:
Work typically involves using computers, phones, and other office equipment, such as printers, scanners, or copiers.
