LIBRARY/MEDIA MANAGER

The Library Media Assistant position is a classified at-will position

WORK YEAR: 2025-2026 APPROVED ACADEMIC SCHOOL CALENDAR - 4 day week

SALARY: Beginning salary range for the Library Media Assistant is $16.77 per hour 5.85 hours per day based upon previous experience in related field. Annual pay is divided equally by 12 months and paid monthly on the last business day of the month.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Clear background reports through fingerprint submission to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and FBI.

Current First Aid and CPR/AED Certification.

Must have ONE of the following: 1. At least 48 credit hours completed at an institute of higher education; OR 2. An associate's (or higher) degree; OR 3. Must be able to demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. (Testing is administered through the School DIstrict)

Physical ability to do some lifting.

Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with staff and administration.

Ability to be flexible.

Knowledge of audio-visual equipment, office equipment, library procedures and internet preferred.

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with the processing of orders, reports, bibliographies, forms, library schedules, letters to publishers, cataloging, etc.

Assists in the ordering of books and computer software, etc.

Assists in the maintenance and filing of computer file updates, publishers catalogs, etc.

Makes simple repairs on damaged books and other media.

Responsible for the care of audio-visual equipment and computers.

Assists in the supervision of students in the library.

Assists students in library research.

Assists students and staff in locating needed materials.

Performs reasonable clerical duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or principal.

Performs other reasonable clerical duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or principal.

Attends meetings as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or principal.

Promote utilization of library/media resources, including assisting faculty in selection and use of learning resources and new technologies.

Manage the acquisition, organization, distribution, maintenance and inventory of resources.

Prepare and monitor a library/media services budget.

EVALUATION:

Evaluation is to be based upon fulfillment of duties and responsibilities listed in this job description as determined by observation, review of records and reports, and administrative judgment and effectiveness and quality of services. The employee will participate in the writing of personal goals and objectives which demonstrate the ability to develop professionally.
