Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused Estimator with experience in commercial landscaping, irrigation systems, and hardscaping. This role involves creating precise cost projections for a wide range of construction projects, requiring a solid grasp of building practices, materials, and pricing. The ideal candidate will be able to assess project plans and requirements to produce accurate and competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and interpret blueprints and project specifications to understand the full scope of work

Perform detailed quantity take-offs and calculate costs for labor, materials, and equipment

Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids

Use estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to develop thorough and accurate cost proposals

Coordinate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and clients, to validate estimate assumptions

Prepare and deliver bid packages and proposals in a timely manner

Track project expenditures and support cost management efforts throughout construction

Qualifications:

Demonstrated background in estimating for construction, particularly in landscaping and hardscape projects

Proficient with industry-standard tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid

Strong negotiation abilities when working with vendors and subcontractors

Deep understanding of construction processes and management best practices

Ability to read and analyze technical documents and construction contracts

High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail

Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across various teams and stakeholders
