General Education Development (GED®) Teacher

Reports to: Director of Adult Education

Part Time, Academic Calendar, Mondays and Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 PM plus 30 minutes paid planning time for each class (typically 5 hrs/wk)

Pay Rate: $32.45 /hr

Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to teach Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies content to adult learners to prepare them to take the GED® subject area tests.

Major Responsibilities:

Create a positive learning environment that is supportive and safe for all learners

Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage learners and develop sound foundational skills in each subject area and transferable visual literacy skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Sensitive to the needs of adult learners ages 18+

Knowledge of a wide variety of strategies and linguistic supports to support instruction

Ability to use classroom technology such as a laptop, projector, and interactive board to enhance instruction Qualifications/Requirements:

Values diversity and inclusion

Sensitive to the needs of adult learners

CT certification #107, #106, #015 English, or #029 Mathematics preferred Physical Requirements:
