Job Description
The fast-growing personal-injury practice in Texas is seeking a Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will coordinate clients’ treatment, maintain airtight case files, and supply attorneys with the records and data they need to secure top results.
Legal Assistant Responsibilities
Caseload Management – Independently manage a docket of treatment-phase personal-injury cases; track client progress and escalate red flags to attorneys.
Medical Coordination – Schedule and confirm appointments (physicians, imaging, therapy, specialists) and verify completion of treatment plans.
Records & Billing Capture – Request, review, and organize medical records and invoices; validate accuracy for demand packages, settlements, and trial exhibits.
File Maintenance – Enter diagnoses, treatment milestones, and adjuster communications into the case-management system in real time.
Stakeholder Communication – Serve as primary point of contact for clients, providers, and insurance adjusters; translate medical terminology into plain language for clients and concise updates for attorneys.
Client Advocacy – Deliver calm, compassionate guidance so injured clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the process.
Legal Assistant Requirements
Experience: 3 + years in a plaintiff personal-injury firm, medical case-management role, or insurance claims environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with legal case-management software (e.g., Needles, Litify, Clio) and standard office applications.
Medical Knowledge: Fluency in medical terminology, treatment protocols, and billing codes (ICD/CPT).
Organization: Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume docket, meet strict deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; poised, professional phone and email manner.
Language: Bilingual English-Spanish strongly preferred.
Work Style: Self-directed, solutions-oriented, and able to remain composed under pressure.
