Position Overview
We seek a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Estimator to lead the development of accurate, competitive, and profitable bids. This role is essential to our operations. The Senior Estimator will leverage their extensive industry knowledge and advanced tools to generate estimates that will position Timberline Construction Group as the contractor of choice in the civil construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Management: Review project documentation such as blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to create thorough and competitive bids for site development and utility infrastructure initiatives.
Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost evaluations, considering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect expenses.
Risk Evaluation: Recognize potential project risks, explore value engineering options, and implement cost-reduction strategies to enhance proposals while maintaining quality
Creative Approaches: Leverage cutting-edge estimation software to optimize workflows and guarantee consistent precision.
Collaboration and Communication
Team-Oriented Strategy: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to align estimates with project goals and constraints.
Supplier Relations: Build robust relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, proactively sourcing and evaluating competitive pricing to enhance the accuracy of
Clear Communication: Organize pre-bid meetings and bid assessments, providing thorough and insightful analyses of costs, assumptions, and project requirements.
Qualifications
Proven experience in estimating complex civil construction projects, focusing on site work and utility infrastructure.
Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, geotechnical reports, and technical specifications.
Professional Background
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
A minimum of 7 years of hands-on estimating experience in civil construction, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
